Careers and Business

A Solar Farm brings many direct opportunities for employment to the region during both the construction phase and ongoing operations once the project is commissioned.

Project Opportunities

The project will likely employ up to 140 directly employed staff during the construction period (over two years). From operations, the project will employ up to 4 full-time staff and approximately 8 part-time staff.

Flow on employment benefits are also achieved as the project brings demand for local and regional business services and consumer goods. Most regions have a range of businesses that will provide services to a solar farm project.

These include:

  • Domestic scale electricians;
  • Transport operators;
  • Competent machine operators;
  • General labourers.
